About

Bath Bridge School was formed in the belief that there there was an unfulfilled demand for opportunities to play and learn about bridge in Central Bath. The aim was to create an atmosphere that was welcoming, friendly and suitable for those that wanted to play socially, as well as those who aspired to play more competitive bridge.

Teaching

In any bridge class there is always a range of skills, aptitudes, and intellectual curiosity. Then there is the well known fact that people learn in different ways, and at different speeds. That is why we believe in small group teaching. It then becomes possible to give a level of personal attention that is not possible with a big group.

Visual aids are also a feature of our courses. Carefully designed slides mean that any difficult concepts are explained visually, as well as verbally. And there are hands to play and discuss that also illustrate and reinforce the ides that have been presented.

High quality handouts that summarise any new concepts taught are a feature of the courses. And information on hands played, with commentaries, is made available as a printable download, in pdf format.

The courses are given by Phil Cooke, an experienced lecturer and tutor, and an English Bridge Union (EBU) qualified teacher..

The Venue

All the activities of Bath Bridge School are at The Museum of Bath at Work in Julian Road.
