Lunchtime Tutorials Once a Month
Every Monday afternoon you can come and play bridge. (But not on Bank Holidays)
You can come with a partner, or on your own.
Duplicate bridge is a good format since:
- All the other players encounter the same hands, so you can see how well you did
- You get to meet other people
- The afternoon is scored, so you can chart your progress
- Because everyone plays with the same hands you do not suffer an afternoon with bad cards!
If you are new to duplicate bridge this is the ideal place to get started. You get to meet other people in pleasant surroundings, and with a friendly atmosphere. The ideal way to have an enjoyable afternoon.
NEW: the hands played are now shown on the web, as are individual score cards. If you are sufficiently keen on learning and improving you can study the hands, see what others did with them, and perhaps figure out how it should have gone! (example)
Table money is £3 including refreshments

Friendly Duplicate?
Duplicate is the system that is used in clubs and competitions where the rules are rigorously applied – and thus can seem rather daunting to those new to this way of playing. These Monday afternoon sessions are much less formal, with help always at hand for those who may need it. So it is ideal both for those new to this system, and for those wishing to combine a duplicate session with a pleasant and sociable afternoon.
If you are new to duplicate the Monday sessions are the ideal way of starting out.
