Bidding The Big Hands & Two Level Bids
Overview
Bidding and making a slam is one of the thrills of bridge. But many players are almost afraid of trying. This is because the opportunities seem to be so rare that one never gets much practice using the special bids that are used to explore possible slams. This series of three sessions aims to improve your slam bidding. With well shuffled cards slam opportunities are as frequent as one or two per session!. Topics that will be covered are:
- 2NT openings And how to respond
- Acol strong 2 openings And how to respond
- 2 club openings And how to respond
- The jump shift
- Cue Bidding How to show your aces
- Blackwood To avoid playing in slams that cannot be made
There will also be handouts that summarise the information in an easy to use format, and records, with commentary of the hands played.
